HELHEIM Begins Recording New Mini-CD, Full-Length Album

May 17, 2010

Norway's HELHEIM, well known for incorporating Norse history into its music and performances, has entered Conclave Studio with producer Bjørnar Nilsen to begin recording a new mini-CD and a new full-length album. The mini-CD, entitled "Aasgaards Fall", will be released in September, while the full-length, entitled "Heiðindómr ok Mótgang", will be made available in January 2011.

In other news, the band states, "Even though we are dedicating most of our time to the upcoming albums, etc., we have found room for a couple of weekends to do live in July."

The dates are as follows:

July 03 - Afterparty / Tuska Open Air Metal Festival - Helsinki, Finland
July 09 - In Flammen Open Air - Torgau, Germany

HELHEIM caused a stir when it launched its sixth album, "Kaoskult", in a Norwegian kindergarten, where the band played a shortened acoustic set to the children.

"Kaoskult" was HELHEIM's sixth release, and its second on the Dark Essence label. The nine-track album presented a new maturity from the band, which has explored a more varied, and melodic side to its music. Written by now-former guitarist Thorbjørn, with lyrics by Vgandr, "Kaoskult" was produced by Bjørnar Nilsen, who also contributed guest vocals.
